    Pick up a passport at a participating business then start shopping! Once you make a minimum of five purchases from participating businesses, you will be entered to win

    Support downtown Belfast merchants and restaurants on Saturday, November 26 for Small Business Saturday. You will be supporting our community and adding to our vibrancy making Belfast a place to live, work, and play.

    Early Bird Sale
    December 3

    The Early Bird gets the deals: Annual downtown-wide sale in Belfast! Deep discounts and promotions from retail shops and restaurants throughout downtown. Always the first Saturday in December.

    Tree Lighting
    December 3

    Celebrate Christmastime downtown with the Annual Tree Lighting in Post Office Square. Annually the first Saturday in December, the same day as the downtown Annual Early Bird Sale.
     
    The event begins at 4:30 p.m.

    The Best Christmas Pageant Ever
    December 2, 3, 4, 9, 10 and 11

    The Belfast Maskers present the Best Christmas Pageant Ever written by Barbara Robinson and directed by Emily LeBlanc-McConnell. In this hilarious Christmas classic, a couple struggling to put on a church Christmas pageant is faced with casting the Herdman kids – probably the most inventively awful kids in history. You won’t believe the mayhem (and the fun) when the Herdmans collide with the Christmas story head-on!

    Holiday on the Harbor
    December 10

    Presented by the Belfast Area Chamber of Commerce and  Belfast Parks and Recreation with an appearance by Santa. Children will be able to:
     
    -Decorate cookies provided by Delvino’s
    -Make an ornament provided by Cornerspring Montesorri School
    -Stroll a Story Walk provided by Belfast Free Library
    -Take a horse-drawn family wagon rides from S&S Carriage Rides
    -Caroling from Little River Baptist Church
    -Enjoy Popcorn and hot chocolate provided by Waldo Community Action Partners
    -Take a donated book home
     
    Donate new and gently used books to the Belfast Area Chamber of Commerce now through December 9. Donations may be dropped off at 14 Main St. Belfast.

    Saturday, December 10 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

    Sip & Splurge
    December 15

    Sip & Splurge returns on Thursday, December 15 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Downtown businesses will stay open late for a night of festive shopping. 

    Registration begins at 5:00 p.m. at Delvino’s. For $10 you will receive appetizers, a cup for sipping, and a bag for splurging. The bag will include a list of participating businesses as well as a “wish list” that you fill out and hand over so your loved ones know what to buy you!

    The Nutcracker
    December 16, 17, and 18

    Presented by Thomas Performing Arts Center.

    Come join us as we take you on a journey as Clara befriends a nutcracker who comes to life on Christmas eve. This is our take on the acclaimed holiday
    show with, angels, soldiers, a Snow Queen, and the notorious rat king!
    This is the holiday event of the season and a must-see for the whole family.

    Menorah Lighting
    December 18

    Celebrate Hanukkah downtown! The annual menorah lighting will take place at sundown (4:00 p.m), during the first night of Hanukkah. The community celebrates with music and readings. 

    The menorah will be lit during Hanukkah and remain so throughout the holiday.
