On November 29th, QUENCH will be hosting a Shop Small Saturday Trunk show with Etsy seller, worthygoods. From 11am to 3pm, worthygoods owner and artisan, Dory Smith Graham, will be selling her fantastic, eco-friendly wearables at 9 Beaver Street. Come and fill those holiday wishes with a bit of wine and a nibble or two.

12/1  HABITAT FOR HUMANITY WREATH AUCTION:  HfH Waldo County’s Annual Wreath Auction at Camden National Bank through Tuesday, 12/9.

12/1  IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE:  Come see a Christmas Classic on the big screen at The Colonial Theatre! Benefit show for the Interfaith Fuel Fund of the Greater Bay Area Ministerium.  $10 suggested donation.

Yes… a heart-warming picture about small town life with all proceeds to help warm our neighbors in our own small towns! Frank Capra directs Jimmy Stewart and Donna Reed in a story that proves how one life can make a difference. You’ll feel good both seeing this movie and aiding this cause.

12/5  BELFAST FLYING SHOES CONTRA DANCE:  at the Frank D. Hazeltine American Legion Post 43 , 143 Church Street in downtown Belfast, ME.  First Friday of every month!

Adina Gordon calling with Crowfoot: Jaige Trudel – fiddle, Nicholas Williams – flute & accordion, Adam Broome – guitar.  Contra Dance at 8pm and The All-Comers Band plays for the Community Dance at 6:30pm.  Anyone who plays an instrument (all levels of players encouraged) is welcome to join in.  Suggested donation at the door.

12/5  HOLIDAY ART OPENING:  Betts Gallery will have an Opening Reception for WRAP-UP THE HOLIDAYS, a show of small works by 25 area artists. (5:30-8:00 p.m.)

12/6  EARLY BIRD SALE:  A long-standing Belfast tradition; the earlier you shop, the better the deal.  A festive time downtown from 6-9am.  Come join the early birds!

12/6  BELFAST TREE LIGHTING RETURNS TO POST OFFICE SQUARE:  Gather at Post Office Square as we host the annual tree lighting celebration; complete with a visit from Santa, cookies and cocoa (donations will support the Belfast Soup Kitchen), and caroling led by Belfast Area High School musicians.  Santa arrives by firetruck at 4:30, and we’ll light up the tree with Santa and Mayor Ash around 5pm.  Sponsored by Bangor Savings Bank!

12/6  HOLIDAY GALLERY WALK:  More info coming soon!  5:30 to 8pm.

12/6 & 7  FREE FAMILY MATINEES AT THE COLONIAL THEATRE:  Showings are at 12:30pm and 3pm.  Movies TBA.

12/8  HOLIDAY STORY TIME AND CRAFT PARTY:  Head to the Abbott Room of the Belfast Free Library for a special Holiday Story Time and Craft Party for children of all ages and families!  The festivities begin at 4pm and include seasonal stories, songs, arts, crafts, gift-making and cookie decorating.

12/9  BUSINESS AFTER HOURS:  Camden National Bank hosts their highly-anticipated holiday networking event with the Belfast Area Chamber of Commerce.  Come and meet and greet with the Belfast business community, while enjoying refreshments and cheer.

12/13  HOLIDAYS ON THE HARBOR:  Belfast Area Chamber of Commerce hosts this family friendly fun event.  Santa arrives by boat at the town landing at 11:30am, then the group moves to the Boathouse where there will be many children’s activities and photos with Santa until 2pm.

12/13 & 14  FREE FAMILY MATINEES AT THE COLONIAL THEATRE:  Showings are at 12:30pm and 3pm.  Movies TBA.

12/14  BELFAST AREA HIGH SCHOOL HOLIDAY CONCERT:  At the Belfast Boathouse, 2pm.  More info TBA.

12/14  4th Annual Join-In Nutcracker at the Belfast Dance Studio:  11:30-12:30, Children of all ages (including ballet-loving grown-ups, too) are invited to twirl along to highlights from the holiday classic. $5 individual/$10 families, with proceeds to benefit the scholarship fund.  RSVP on Facebook.

12/19  ART OPENING AND WINE TASTING:  At the Belfast Coop.  More info at www.belfast.coop.
