Communication, Consent & Platonic Touch Workshop and Practice
December 30, 2018 @ 2:00 pm - 5:30 pm
How would it be having more affectionate, safe touch in your life? Would you like practice asking for and giving consent without awkwardness? Have you ever been afraid to ask for what you want? Ever wish you could more gracefully and painlessly handle rejection? Have you ever said yes, when you wished you’d said no? Do you miss being hugged, held, rocked, or just playing patty-cake?
This workshop is in affiliation with CuddleParty ™ and is a “review” which is part of my facilitator certification process. This means that every participant will be asked to share feedback with my mentor by filling out a survey. CuddleParty(tm) was founded over a decade ago and trains facilitators all over the globe in creating and holding a safer space for consent and touch experiences. The rules are tried and true to create a safe, fun environment for people to connect. Events are 100% platonic, therapeutic, clothed. Touch is never required or expected.
ARRIVE ON TIME: Once we begin the Welcome Circle and orientation we can let no one enter late. This creates comfort and safety by knowing that everyone is on the same page about rules and expectations. (You are, however, free to leave at any time. Always.)
WHAT TO WEAR: Yoga clothes. Lounge wear. Pajamas. Cozy clothes. (No shorts. No skirts. No cleavage.) Make sure your clothes and your body are clean and fragrance and smoke free. Some people choose to change into their comfy clothes when they arrive so they know they will be clean and fresh.
WHAT TO BRING: Just your courageous, receptive self! If you like, you may bring snacks or beverages to share – but not required. No liquor / marijuana.
Be Prepared to STICK TO THE RULES:
* Clothing stays on the whole time
* You don’t have to touch anyone, ever.
* You must ask permission and receive a verbal YES before you touch anyone. (Be as specific in your request as you can.)
* If you’re a yes, say YES. If you’re a no, say NO. If you’re a maybe, say NO.
* You are encouraged to change your mind whenever. In any direction.
* Respect your relationship agreements and communicate with your relationship partner.
* Get your Facilitator or the Assistant if you have a question or concern or need assistance with anything during the event.
