Creating Family Memory Books

March 12 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

On Tuesday March 12th, 6:30pm, the first of three programs on Creating Family Memory Books, will take place in the Abbott Room of the Belfast Free Library. The series is presented by John Elberfeld and Jane McLean, husband-and-wife team with experience in archival techniques, genealogy, historical writing, desktop publishing, and creating memory books.

The first session on March 12th will be an overview of the process and will cover how to gather and sort photos and documents; research information and write text; research types of memory books; put a memory book together; distribute book. We’ll show examples of memory books, low-tech to high-tech.

The next session on Tuesday April 9th will focus on writing the captions and text and putting it all together. In part three, date still to be determined, participants will have the opportunity to use an online program to create their books.

This series is free and open to all. For more information please call the library at 338-3884 ext.10.
