This class is part of a 3-week series of book arts classes that will cover various techniques and materials including Decorative Paste Papers, Japanese Books, and Long Stitch Books. Each class will focus on a different topic, while we learn the basics of book binding vocabulary and a bit of book binding history. Students can register for each class separately, but are also encouraged to come to all three! Additional workshops are November 11 and November 18.
In Decorative Paste Papers students will learn how to use different types of pigments combined with wheat paste to decorate papers. Included in this process are various tools to create multiple textures. Like adult finger painting, paste papering has great scope for many other forms and creative processes.
Tools & materials provided.
