Fiber Fix-It and Maker event

March 25 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Belfast Community Works, a new group forming to share skills and resources for making and fixing things we use in our daily lives, is hosting three spring events, all free and open to everyone. The first Fiber Fix-It and Maker event will be held on Saturday, March 25th from 9-am to noon at the First Baptist Church in Belfast. There will be demos, workshops, and projects all morning with spinning, knitting, clothing design and up-cycling, sock puppets, a KIDS table, silk painting, crochet and more – come learn new techniques and meet others excited about working with fiber.

With meetings that began this winter, Belfast Community Works (BCW) is taking shape after having been discussed and dreamed about among friends and community groups in this area for several years. BCW has the long term goal of creating a fun and inviting permanent space for makers, builders, tinkerers, and dreamers of all ages encouraging innovation, creativity, and connections throughout Belfast and beyond.
The next two Fix-it events will be on April 22: Bike Repair and Maintenance, and May 20: Garden and Yard Works, both 9am to noon. Please join us for the upcoming events or come to our next organizational meeting Wed March 29th at 6pm at the Belfast Free Library.
