“The Boston Boats” presentation with the Belfast Historical Society

“The Boston Boats” is the topic for the Belfast Historical Society meeting at 7:00 pm, Monday August 29, in the Abbott Room at the Belfast Free Library.

Judith Frost Gillis, Orrington Historical Society president, will present a history of four of the steamships which plied the waters of Penobscot Bay and the Penobscot River providing rapid and safe transportation for both passengers and freight. The steamships Belfast, Camden, Rockland, and Bangor will be featured. The SS Belfast, known locally as The Boston Boat, served the Belfast to Boston route from 1909 to 1935.
