Waterfall Arts HANDMADE Show
December 1, 2017 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Waterfall Arts’ annual HANDMADE art and craft show and sale returns to the Clifford Gallery for its 6th year on Friday, December 1, with a glittering opening party that everyone is welcome to attend. The 5:00-8:00PM event will be merry with refreshments and food from Belfast’s own Moody Dogs. Young artists from the after school art programs at Waterfall Arts will be in the Bridge Studio creating one-of-a-kind, artful wrapping paper for purchases.
HANDMADE is a juried show that includes work from more than 100 artists and makers from all over Maine and beyond. Proceeds from sales benefit both the vendors and Waterfall Arts. For HANDMADE, the Clifford Gallery is transformed into a modern marketplace complete with displays and racks full of a variety of wares, including finely made glass, ceramics, jewelry, prints, drawings, paintings, sculpture, specialty foods, soaps, tea, cards, textiles, journals, clothing, décor, and much more are included in the show. Efforts have been made to keep prices low; almost everything is less than $100, with the majority well below that. There is truly something for everyone at HANDMADE!
HANDMADE will continue through Saturday, December 23. Hours will be 10:00AM to 6:00PM Tuesday through Friday and 12:00PM to 4:00PM on Saturdays and Sundays. Arrangements to shop at other times can be made by calling the Waterfall Arts office at (207) 338-2222.
Also opening on Friday, December 1 at Waterfall Arts is an exhibition titled SHELTER in the Corridor Gallery. SHELTER is a collaborative exhibit featuring the work of printmakers from Circling the Square Fine Art Press in Gardiner and the Waterfall Arts Print Studio. Unified by concept, 25 artists created unique fine art prints about “Shelter”. The works reflect a wide variety of interpretations inspired by personal experience. The images speak to literal, metaphorical, psychological, national and global concerns. Printmaking techniques include intaglio, relief, lithography and silkscreen. The exhibition was on display at the Circling the Square gallery in Gardiner during the month of November. The exhibition will be at Waterfall Arts from December 1 – December 23.
