Here are answers to a few questions we get asked a lot!
• What is the cost of admission? There is a $15 per person suggested donation that can be contributed at the many entrances to the park on the weekend of the festival
• Can I bring my kids? Yes! All ages are very welcome. There will be activities for children all weekend long.
• Can I bring my dog? We love your dog! Please keep him or her on a leash and be mindful of picking up any waste. Well behaved dogs are very welcome and we’ll have watering stations for pets and their owners.
• What are the hours of the festival? Friday kicks off around 5pm until 9ish. Saturday starts at 10am and wraps up with fireworks around 9:15pm. Sunday again at 10am until about 5pm.
The Celebration takes place at two adjacent parks in downtown Belfast, Steamboat Landing and Belfast Common. Steamboat Landing is a 2.5 acre flat grassy park right on the waterfront, and serves as the southern terminus of the Belfast Harbor Walk. It includes the park, a gazebo, and The Boathouse. Belfast Common is located just uphill from Steamboat Landing, on a large, open hillside that overlooks Belfast Bay and provides a natural seating area for our Main Stage, with the beautiful bay as the backdrop. Please note the Celebration is a smoke-free environment.
Directions: From Route 1 north or south, exit at the Route 3 interchange and follow signs for downtown Belfast (this is Main Street). Follow Main Street through the traffic light in the center of town and down the hill towards the harbor. Turn right at either Cross Street or Front Street and the parks are just two blocks away.
Parking: Free all-day parking is available in several city owned lots around the downtown area. The largest lot is located on Washington Street, behind Traci’s Diner and Rollie’s Bar and Grill. There is additional free parking in the lot on Beaver Street and in a small lot on Cross Street (behind the Belfast Co-op). On street parking on most downtown streets is time limited, and parking rules are enforced by the Belfast Police Department. All of these lots are just a short walk from the Celebration and from the downtown business area.
