Description

The Ocean House was originally built as a hotel around 1865 in downtown Belfast Maine.  In its history, the building has been variously: a hotel, a brothel, a grain exchange, an auto body shop, a junk yard, an indy music mecca, and a used clothing shop.  We purchased the building in 2012 and set about on a two and a half year restoration of the grande old girl, preserving what we could and working from period photos.  Today  the Ocean House is home to a wood fired Italian Restaurant, Meanwhile in Belfast on the lower level; a fantastically quirky cottage and gardening lifestyle store, Brambles on the first floor; and an elegant and spacious, 3 bedroom/ 3 bathroom  short-term rental, The loft at the Ocean House on the top two floors. One can rent this gorgeous apartment for 3 nights to 3 years and beyond. We love living there ourselves on occasion and are constantly fiddling with the space to make your stay more enjoyable.  Please click on the links above for more information, or if you like, try our Airbnb listing.  If you are looking to rent or see the apartment, you may call Seth at 207 323-8383 to make arrangements.  Best to have a look at the link above for photos, policies, and a calendar for availability.
