Our Town Belfast: Programs & Services
Our Town Belfast is charged with growing and sustaining our historic downtown, while celebrating our unique cultural heritage. We believe in supporting local businesses, honoring our heritage through historic preservation, and in bringing the community together in order to make downtown Belfast a better place to live, work, and play.
Our Town Belfast accomplishes that mission through work in each of the following areas:
Downtown Beautification
As the seasons change, Our Town Belfast’s design committee is hard at work enhancing the physical and visual elements of downtown. That may include doing plantings and other beautification projects that encourage the use of our unique public spaces that add to the quality of life here in Belfast.
Community Promotion
Our Town Belfast is committed to providing timely information and engaging content through our media channels as part of encouraging visitors and area residents to shop, play and dine in Belfast’s historic downtown. This is accomplished also through special events and activities.
Economic Vitality
Over time Belfast’s downtown has been transformed to what we see today. Our Town Belfast believes that key to sustaining and growing our downtown is understanding the current conditions while identifying future growth opportunities. This includes helping to strength current business while recruiting new businesses along with assisting property owners to find new economic uses for traditional Main Street buildings.
